Passed 70-417, MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2. Review – Experience

So two weeks ago , I sat for exam 70-417, Upgrading Your Skills to MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 and I was able to pass it successfully. let me tell you this exam was absolute monster ! . I am now a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate on Windows 2012 R2 .

For those of you are planning to take this exam , please be really prepared as this exam is not an easy exam  ! . As you already know , when you take an exam you are under a NDA ( Non Disclosure Agreement) so please don’t ask me about what was in the exam ! . I will not discuss or answer any inquiries about the questions in the exam, however I can tell you that :

  • This exam is a monster hard exam !
  • The exam consists of 3 parts / sections ( one for every exam that you normally need to get MCSA 2012 .  they are divided as  follow 20 -20-21 totals 61 questions .  You have to do each section separately , and once you finish a section , you can no longer go back to review or change your answer . the sections are basically from exams  70-410 , 70-411 and 70-412  !!
  • Lot of powershell questions !
  • Graphics is much better than prometric !  ( exam provider is now Pearson Vue )
  • Passing score is 700 and your score is the lowest score of the 3 sections , so say you got 900-900-699 you will the exam at 699 ( be careful )

I used many study materials from such as :

  • Windows server 2012 R2 jump start that can be found on youtube here
  • Microsoft Press Book for 70-417 can be found here

Good Luck with your exam  !
